Yikes! Book Club is next Monday! I'd better get busy!
Fascinating story of World War II in the walled island city of Saint-Malo off the coast of France. A blind French girl, a brilliant orphaned German soldier, a lost treasure that possibly carries a deadly curse! What's not to love? Beautifully written. I felt somewhat like Marie-Laure in that my mind, my eyes could not picture the city in which the story takes place. It sounded so mythical that I had to google it to see if the city really exists. It does. And that is part of the later story.
